Call for Abstracts

Participants interested in presenting data should submit abstracts by June 30, 2008. Abstracts are subject to acceptance by the Scientific Committee. Once accepted, abstracts will be published in the final activity book and scheduled for oral or poster presentation. Acceptance notification and guidelines for poster presentation will be sent in June 2008. Authors of accepted abstracts who have not registered will have until July 17, 2008 to do so, at the rate of $395. After that date, abstracts without registered presenters will be disregarded.

Abstracts may be submitted on the following topics:
  • Adjuvant hormonal therapy
  • Adjuvant chemotherapy
  • Neoadjuvant endocrine therapy
  • Neoadjuvant chemotherapy
  • Endocrine therapy for metastatic disease
  • Chemotherapy for metastatic disease
  • Targeted therapies
  • Supportive care
  • Axillary lymph node dissection
  • Chemoprevention
  • Epidemiology
  • Radiation therapy
  • Screening
  • Surgery
  • Breast cancer in the elderly
  • Breast cancer and global health
Best Abstracts Awards
The purpose of these awards is to encourage and recognize scientific research excellence. The awards will be given to the best overall abstracts at the 4th IABCC. Cash awards of $2000 and $1000 will be presented to recipients to be used for their professional work. The first author must meet the following requirements:

Candidate must show original research of major importance in the breast cancer field conducted by himself/herself and coinvestigators, if any.

Candidate must submit a well-written, concise, and accurate abstract.

Candidate must be registered for the meeting and agree to present a poster during the scheduled presentation time(s).

Abstract Guidelines
  • Abstracts must be written in English
  • Accepted format: Word document, 9-point Arial font, 500-word limit
  • Use a concise title
  • List affiliations of author(s) as briefly as possible with city, state, and country
  • Place an asterisk (*) before the name of the presenting author
  • Use standard and well-accepted abbreviations
  • In references, use standard and well-accepted formats
  • Abstract content should be single spaced, typed in lowercase, and contain
    • Purpose of the study
    • Summarized description of the project
    • Results and conclusion
  • Abstract submission deadline is June 30, 2008
